A lot of the time when people go on searches they search for the term Hotels. That’s great, you’ll be shown a lot of hotels, but don’t forget about motels! Especially “cheap motels”. Most of the sites you go through, usually they show everything listed by hotel, you have to make an attempt to find the motels. Why? Usually money. Places make more on sending you to hotels, rather than “cheap motels” and would rather show you the pricier items first.
Whether or not this is the case, never push aside a motel. Sure it doesn’t sound as nice, but usually, at least in my years of travel, I find I get virtually the same amenities, including free internet, cable tv, pool, workout room, etc… that hotels offer. Hotels really only offer a few things above a motel. One is room and travel services, and house keeping. And actually I’ve stayed at really nice motels that even offered house cleaning. And the price 40 dollars a night. Compared to a hotel at 100+ a night.
Weigh the pros and cons. If you can save money by staying at a nice motel (please watch the neighborhood the motel is in) than by all means do it, or at least take a look at trip advisor and see just how much extra you get for that 100 dollar plus hotel room compared to that 40 dollar motel room. You’ll usually find, there’s not much of a difference.
